“I liked the nature walk and all the interesting facts and the game meet a tree”
Martin, Glasgow Academy. Primary 5

“I am writing to thank you and all the staff at the estate for the help & support given to me during my work experience placement recently. I really enjoyed the placement and found it quite interesting as I learned a great amount about the duties of a Ranger and the running of the country estate. It gave me a real insight into the working world and can hopefully help me with my choices in the future. Thanks for your help and guidance.”
Fraser, Greenock Academy

“Thank you very much for the opportunity you gave me while I was on my work placement at Finlaystone. I particularly enjoyed path work because I got to use a lot of tools and I got a lot of exercise. I learned that having a gardening job takes a lot of effort and hard work. I was surprised how big the estate was”
Scott, St Stephen’s High School

“Thank you very much for letting me spend a week with you and your staff on work placement. I had a great time and learnt a lot about the work you do and about the outdoors. All the support given to me throughout the week was lovely. Working at Finlaystone was very interesting and it was a wonderful experience”
Simone, Gourock High School

“…the best part had to be wayfaring”

“Hi, just a quick email to say thank you for an absolutely magical day.  I visited the park today with my husband and my three year old son.  The woods and gardens were beautiful and
my son had a fantastic time playing on all the attractions especially the Pirate ship, Fort and Tram.  I was particularly impressed by the imagination that has been used to create the attractions for the children. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Fantastic value for money and we will definitely be visiting again.

“Just wanted to say a big thank you to Paul (Ranger) and Frances (Cafe) for making our daughter Abigail’s party on Saturday a big success. The girls all had a great time and it really was something different for a party. The food was lovely (masses of it as well) and the den building went down well with the girls. They had fun later in afternoon going round all the other activities.

We were made to feel most welcome and we will certainly be recommending it to others. Thanks again to all who made it a special day.”
Jenny Dougall

“Fab day out, best laugh I’ve had in ages. Amazing activities, Chris the ranger was fantastic, if it weren’t for him we would have lost half our team in the woods. I would totally recommend Finlaystone to everyone of all ages.”
Elizabeth Paterson

“Many thanks for all your help in making the outing as successful as possible – the weather you laid on was great! Everyone had a great time. We are hoping to make this an annual event.”

“I just wanted to say what a gorgeous estate you have with beautiful walks, adventure parks and picnic areas for all the family and their dogs. I have lived in the local area for 42 years and this is the first time I have ever been to your estatebut rest assured it will definitely not be the last. Thank you so much for sharing the beauty of your surroundings with us can’t wait to come back and see your place again when it is in full bloom.”
John MacLean, Area Sales Manager

“Dear Finlaystone, I thought I would drop you this quick comment following my families extremely enjoyable trip to your park yesterday. What a lovely time we had. The weather wasn’t too great but that’s not your fault, we had a fantastic time anyway. The woods are a great treat and my children really enjoyed playing on all the attractions especially the Giant Pirate Ship. I have already told several of my family about your park following our trip. You have a lovely park and we will be back.”
The Johnstone Family, East Kilbride

“Thank you for a lovely afternoon on your estate. It was a pleasant experience in these modern times to come away from a place such as yours and not feel as though we had been robbed by the prices charged or bullied by jobs-worth’s in yellow jackets. What a wonderful, friendly, relaxed and uncomplicated ambiance you’ve created for the public to enjoy. Keep up the good work. Thanks you very much. We’ll be back.”
The Robert Richardson and family

“My name is Fiona Robertson and I am a teacher at Heriot Primary School in Paisley. My Class (Primary 3/4) visited Finlaystone on Tuesday 24th June and I am writing to say thank you for such an enjoyable day. You were great with the children, put them at ease straight away and made learning fun for them! The children all agree it was their “best trip ever” so thanks again for such a lovely day!”
Fiona Robertson, Heriot Primary School

“Last Monday I brought a friend with me to see the snowdrops at Finlaystone. After a wonderful afternoon I discovered that I had dropped my car keys somewhere on the estate. I just want to thank you for organising a search party in the way that you did. Happily the keys were found and your kindness will be remembered every time the tale is told. We will return to see your other treasures.”
