NEW GARDENER GETS STUCK IN

Colin Hume is the new gardener at Finlaystone and says ‘Despite the recent poor wet weather I am really enjoying getting stuck into my new role. I previously worked for the National Trust for Scotland at their Geilston garden which is a much smaller estate but still has woodlands, walled and kitchen gardens near Cardross on the opposite side of the Clyde to Finlaystone. I worked there for four years and volunteered there prior to that. Whilst working for the NTS I completed my HND in Amenity Horticulture at Langside College’s horticultural campus at Woodburn House in Rutherglen.’

He continues ‘I am looking forward to working in such a great garden as Finlaystone and the challenges of helping to maintain the high horticultural standards.’
